Will is a research analyst and a security manager with proven experience in humanitarian, developmental, military, business and academic capacities. After completing a degree in Arabic & Philosophy, Will worked in Yemen with a L-NGO on an EC-funded stabilisation project. He supported their functions in micro-disarmament and tribal peace mediation. Following his assignment in Yemen, he deployed with the British Army to Helmand, Afghanistan for an operational tour. After returning to the UK and attaining an MSc in Defence, Development and Diplomacy at the Durham Global Security Institute, Will became the Security Adviser for War Child UK. As Security Advisor, Will served War Child UK's country programmes in Afghanistan, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of Congo, Iraq, Uganda, and Syria/Lebanon.
Will joined Integrity in October 2011, and has completed bespoke work on Somalia, Syria and Yemen. Will is currently working in South Afghanistan as the Regional Advisor for an NGO safety organisation, based in Kandahar. He also covers Helmand, Nimroz, Uruzgan, Zabul, Ghazni, and Paktika. Additionally, he is pursuing a PhD in peace and conflict research and governmental and international affairs. His PhD focuses on personal experiences, emotions and memories of conflict-affected communities and will most likely feature Afghanistan, Myanmar and Syria or Yemen as case studies.
